Why is this needed?এটা কেন করতে হবে?
The app talks directly to Google with your own key. That means:
অ্যাপটি আপনার নিজের key দিয়ে সরাসরি Google-এর সাথে কথা বলে। এর মানে:
- No third-party server ever touches your files.কোনো থার্ড-পার্টি সার্ভার কখনো আপনার ফাইল ছুঁতে পারে না।
- Read-only access. The app cannot delete or change anything in your Drive.শুধু দেখার (read-only) অনুমতি। অ্যাপটি আপনার Drive-এর কিছুই মুছতে বা বদলাতে পারে না।

Before you startশুরু করার আগে
- A Windows 10 / 11 PC with the app downloaded.একটি Windows 10 / 11 পিসি, যেখানে অ্যাপটি ডাউনলোড করা আছে।
- The Gmail account you want to back up.যে Gmail অ্যাকাউন্টের ব্যাকআপ নিতে চান।

Create a Google Cloud projectএকটি Google Cloud প্রজেক্ট তৈরি করুন
- Open the page below and sign in with the same Gmail you want to back up.নিচের বাটনে চাপ দিয়ে পেজটি খুলুন, আর যে Gmail-এর ব্যাকআপ নিতে চান, সেটি দিয়েই সাইন ইন করুন।
- Project name: type anything, for example
drive-backup.Project name-এ যেকোনো নাম দিন, যেমনdrive-backup। - Click Create.Create বাটনে চাপুন।
- Wait about 10 seconds. Then look at the project picker in the top bar and make sure your new project is selected.১০ সেকেন্ডের মতো অপেক্ষা করুন। তারপর উপরের বারে project picker-এ দেখে নিন, নতুন প্রজেক্টটি সিলেক্ট করা আছে কিনা।
Tip: all the next steps happen inside this project. If you ever see a different project name at the top, switch back to this one.

Turn on the Google Drive APIGoogle Drive API চালু করুন
- Open the page below.নিচের বাটন দিয়ে পেজটি খুলুন।
- Confirm that your project from Step 1 is selected, then click Next.দেখে নিন ধাপ ১-এর প্রজেক্টটি সিলেক্ট করা আছে, তারপর Next চাপুন।
- Click Enable. (If the page shows an Enable button, click it. If it says the API is already enabled, you're done.)Enable চাপুন। (পেজে Enable বাটন দেখালে সেটিতে চাপুন। যদি লেখা থাকে API আগেই চালু আছে, তাহলে এই ধাপ শেষ।)
Set up the Google Auth platform (consent screen)Google Auth platform (কনসেন্ট স্ক্রিন) সেটআপ করুন
- Open the page below. If it says “Google Auth platform not configured yet”, click Get Started.নিচের পেজটি খুলুন। যদি লেখা থাকে “Google Auth platform not configured yet”, তাহলে Get Started চাপুন।
- App Information: App name — anything, for example
My Drive Backup. User support email — choose your Gmail. Click Next.App Information: App name-এ যেকোনো নাম দিন, যেমনMy Drive Backup। User support email-এ আপনার Gmail বেছে নিন। তারপর Next চাপুন। - Audience: choose External → Next.Audience: External সিলেক্ট করুন → Next।
- Contact Information: type your email → Next.Contact Information: আপনার ইমেইল লিখুন → Next।
- Finish: tick “I agree to the Google API Services: User Data Policy” → Continue → Create.Finish: “I agree to the Google API Services: User Data Policy”-এ টিক দিন → Continue → Create।
“External” simply means a normal Gmail account can sign in. Nobody else can use your key — only you.
“External” মানে সাধারণ Gmail অ্যাকাউন্ট দিয়ে সাইন ইন করা যাবে। আপনার key আর কেউ ব্যবহার করতে পারবে না — শুধু আপনি।
Add yourself as a test userনিজেকে test user হিসেবে যোগ করুন
- Open the page below (Audience).নিচের পেজটি (Audience) খুলুন।
- Under Test users, click Add users.Test users অংশে Add users চাপুন।
- Type your Gmail address → Save.আপনার Gmail ঠিকানা লিখুন → Save চাপুন।
This is the #1 mistake — don't skip it. Without it, Google shows “Access blocked: … has not completed the Google verification process” / Error 403: access_denied when you try to connect.
সবচেয়ে বেশি মানুষ এই ধাপটাই ভুলে যায় — বাদ দেবেন না। এটা না করলে কানেক্ট করার সময় Google দেখাবে “Access blocked: … has not completed the Google verification process” / Error 403: access_denied।
Create the Desktop app keyDesktop app key তৈরি করুন
- Open the page below (Clients) and click Create Client.নিচের পেজটি (Clients) খুলুন, তারপর Create Client চাপুন।
- Application type: choose Desktop app. Not “Web application” — that causes Error 400: redirect_uri_mismatch.Application type-এ Desktop app সিলেক্ট করুন। “Web application” নয় — ওটা নিলে Error 400: redirect_uri_mismatch আসবে।
- Name: anything → Create.Name-এ যেকোনো নাম দিন → Create।
Click “Download JSON” right now!A dialog shows your Client ID and Client secret. Google shows the secret only once. If you close it by mistake, don't worry — just create a new client. Keep this file private: never share it or upload it anywhere.
এখনই “Download JSON” চাপুন!একটি ডায়ালগে আপনার Client ID আর Client secret দেখাবে। Google এই secret মাত্র একবারই দেখায়। ভুল করে বন্ধ করে ফেললে চিন্তা নেই — শুধু নতুন একটি client তৈরি করুন। ফাইলটি নিজের কাছে গোপন রাখুন: কাউকে দেবেন না, কোথাও আপলোড করবেন না।
Give the file to the appফাইলটি অ্যাপকে দিন
- Open Google Drive Backup Downloader.Google Drive Backup Downloader অ্যাপটি খুলুন।
- On the welcome screen (the setup wizard), go to step 6 and click Choose downloaded JSON file… and pick the file you just downloaded (usually in your Downloads folder).ওয়েলকাম স্ক্রিনে (সেটআপ উইজার্ড) ধাপ ৬-এ গিয়ে Choose downloaded JSON file… চাপুন, তারপর এইমাত্র ডাউনলোড করা ফাইলটি বেছে নিন (সাধারণত Downloads ফোল্ডারে থাকে)।

Connect your Google accountআপনার Google অ্যাকাউন্ট কানেক্ট করুন
- In the app, click Connect Google Drive. Your browser opens.অ্যাপে Connect Google Drive চাপুন। আপনার ব্রাউজার খুলে যাবে।
- Choose your Google account.আপনার Google অ্যাকাউন্টটি বেছে নিন।
- Google shows “Google hasn't verified this app”. This is expected — you are the developer of your own private key. Click Continue. (If you only see Advanced, click Advanced → Go to <app name> (unsafe).)Google দেখাবে “Google hasn't verified this app”। এটা স্বাভাবিক — কারণ এই প্রাইভেট key-এর ডেভেলপার আপনি নিজেই। Continue চাপুন। (যদি শুধু Advanced দেখেন, তাহলে Advanced → Go to <app name> (unsafe) চাপুন।)
- On the permission screen, tick the checkbox “See and download all your Google Drive files” (wording may vary slightly) → Continue.পারমিশন স্ক্রিনে “See and download all your Google Drive files” চেকবক্সে টিক দিন (লেখাটা সামান্য আলাদা হতে পারে) → Continue।
Don't leave the checkbox empty. If it isn't ticked, the app doesn't get permission to read your Drive and connecting fails.
চেকবক্স খালি রাখবেন না। টিক না দিলে অ্যাপটি আপনার Drive দেখার অনুমতি পাবে না, আর কানেক্ট হবে না।
- The browser says you can close the tab. Back in the app, you'll see your account.ব্রাউজারে লেখা আসবে যে ট্যাবটি বন্ধ করতে পারেন। অ্যাপে ফিরে গেলে আপনার অ্যাকাউন্ট দেখতে পাবেন।
- Choose a destination folder and click Back Up Entire Drive.একটি destination folder (যেখানে ব্যাকআপ রাখবেন) বেছে নিন, তারপর Back Up Entire Drive চাপুন।
That's it — you're connected!ব্যস, কানেক্ট হয়ে গেছে!
From now on, every backup is a single click. Run it again any time and only new or changed files are downloaded.

While your app is in Testing mode, Google signs you out every 7 days (sign-ins for Testing apps expire after a week). To stop that:

Personal use (under 100 users) doesn't need Google verification. You'll still click through the “unverified app” screen once.

403“Access blocked” / Error 403: access_denied
Your Gmail isn't on the test user list. Do Step 4 (add yourself as a test user), or publish the app.

400Error 400: redirect_uri_mismatch
The key is the wrong type (usually “Web application”). Go to Clients, create a new client with type Desktop app (Step 5), and give the new JSON file to the app.

This is normal while your app is in Testing mode. Publish the app to stop it.

The app isn't code-signed, so Windows shows this warning the first time. Click More info → Run anyway.

Yes. Standard use of the Drive API costs nothing, and you don't need a billing account.
